We volunteered for a few hours, helping to prepare food and the facility for the hundreds of homeless and low income families that came in for a healthy holiday meal.

I just wanted to write and let everyone know that I've decided to give in to the wrath of Twitter (for business purposes only) ! 

At one point in time, social networking just seemed to be on overload.  MySpace started it, Facebook followed it and Twitter just made me angry.  But each day I'm noticing more and more businesses engaging in the social interaction that Facebook and Twitter bring, not so much MySpace as I think that MySpace has had it's run.

I think it will serve it's purposes as far as networking goes and also is a fun way to keep in the loop on special behind-the-scenes sort of interaction that we might not post here on our blog or our website.

The Komen Race for the Cure Series (www.komen.org) raises significant funds and awareness for the fight against breast cancer, celebrates breast cancer survivorship, and honors those who have lost their battle with the disease.

On November 1, nearly 14,000 runners, walkers and volunteers joined forces for the Annual Komen San Diego Race for the Cure!  MiMedia got to participate in the event by providing audio and truss structures for the stage.  We also coordinated the design of the banners to help bring the event to life.

We find that we've been doing a lot of work with charities and other non-profit organizations lately.  It seems as though everybody is trying to do good for everybody during this downturn in the economy.  We've been having a blast exploring this fresh new part of the industry and encourage you to send us your RFP should you have an event coming up that requires lighting, audio, staging or video production for an organization raising awareness.

Also check out a new section in our website dedicated to these organizations.  We are happy to provide your name and listing on our website after we've completed an event with you and your team.

Over the last few months, we have been working with a local family who were hosting a fundraising event at their home in Newport Beach.  We provided outdoor lighting that began setting up on Friday the 18th.  The event began on Saturday night and was a huge success.  Thanks to all who participated!

This past weekend we provided staging, lighting and audio for a Corporate event at Rancho Las Lomas (www.rancholaslomas.com).  Check out our photos below!

While some of the event industry seems to be slowing down, the corporate world is just about to pick up again.  Our summer has been booking quickly.

Just last weekend we were in San Diego from Friday until Sunday for the annual XP Dental 2009 event.  We provided a/v support and began set-up early Friday morning.  There were about 1200 attendees at the event that began early in the morning on Saturday.  On Saturday evening, the atmosphere converted over for the Awards & Red Carpet Ceremony. 

This past week we also provided a sound system for a local band called Dirty Heads (www.dirtyheads.com) who were performing for Corona Del Mar's High School Graduation night over at Dave & Buster's in Irvine.

Dirty Heads Show:

MiMedia got back into town Thursday from Mexico and began loading in for the Pac 10 Hall of Honor and Pride of the Pac ceremonies both Friday and Saturday at the Downtown Marriott in Los Angeles.  We also had crew loading in on Thursday for an event for BIA at the Grand Californian Hotel in Disneyland!  What a week we've had.
